HIV testing is essential for slowing the spread of HIV infection. CAEVA liaises with specialist service providers, particularly, the AIDS Information Centre (AIC) to organize HIV Testing and Counseling in rural communities where, accessibility and affordability are hard. As of 2018, the prevalence of HIV among adults aged 15 to 64 in Uganda was 6.2%: 7.6% among females and 4.7% among males. HIV prevalence is higher among women living in urban areas (9.8%) than those in rural areas (6.7%).
